One of the main projects Friends of AJ Swope is currently pursuing is the construction of the Texas Panhandle First Responders Memorial to honor the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice keeping our families, friends, and neighbors safe.

The Texas Panhandle First Responders Memorial will provide a centralized place to commemorate fallen heroes from across the region, a list that currently includes 86 law enforcement officers, firefighters, ems personnel, and emergency transport members.

"As a Panhandle-wide community, it is up to us to support the families of fallen responders any way we can. And while memorials can never replace our loved ones, they can be part of the healing process that honors these sacrifices in a meaningful way. Despite the great support we enjoy from our communities, there has never been a region-wide memorial erected to remember those who died in the line of duty. So we are working with other law enforcement agencies to raise funds for a memorial to all our fallen Texas Panhandle first responders."

~ Retired Randall County Sheriff Joel Richardson
